Sketching

Posted on January 5, 2013April 23, 2014 by Loni Townsend

I decided to try my hand at sketching today. I’ve never done much in the way of “realistic” drawing, having spent most of my artistic time on anime-style cartoons. But I bought a brand new sketchbook last night and my pencil demanded I give it a try. The flaws taunt and torment me—the left eye is too big, the jaw isn’t symmetrical, and the eyebrows are uneven—but it’s better than the other realistic drawings I’ve attempted in the past.

Book: Thanmir War
Name: Derek Brian Wesley
Age: 22
Eye color: Black
Hair color: Black

    Wow. Just … wow.
I could never draw like that. And it’s just how I imagined him.

Don’t worry about the so-called ‘flaws’. I didn’t notice until you picked. Makes him seem a little more real.
