Rise and Shine

Posted on September 6, 2013September 5, 2013 by Loni Townsend

Have you ever strived to achieve? Maybe you want to run a marathon? Design a video game? Write a book? One thing is for certain: it takes time, hard work, and dedication to do something, and to do it well.

Perhaps you don’t perform at your peak during the early morning hours. But if you do have a passion, you probably take any time you can get a hold of to better yourself in that area. You might forgo sleep to obtain the next level, or use your lunch hour to run a few miles.

This is one of the most inspiring motivational talks I’ve come across. It encourages me every time I listen to it.

Writing might not seem like a competitive sport, but how many people out there will choose to pick up a book other than mine? I have to strive. I have to improve. I have to produce.

Saying these things means nothing without action behind them. I’ve given myself a challenge: Write a novella in a week. My goal is 25K–3600 words a day over 7 days, starting Sunday.

Welcome to the grind.

What inspires you? Have you challenged yourself lately?

Oh, I see this is tagged with “gritty crime world”.
If Cera 2 is anything like the first one, it should be an interesting read. ^_^

I’m not getting much writing done, but I’ll gladly cheer you on.
    Go, Go, Go!!! 😀

Thanks! I think I should’ve picked a different week though. Between writing, writing, and then rewriting my introduction for Thanmir War, the doctor, the dentist, critique group, and prep for a baby shower, it doesn’t leave me much time. But I’m plugging away!
