My name is Loni Townsend. Welcome to my website.

Within the pages of my website, you'll find homegrown graphics, jQuery goodies, and CSS experimentation. My website might not be as fabulous as some, but I built it myself and for that I'm proud. Web development has been a hobby of mine since late 2001, when I enrolled in school for Software Applications and Computer programming. Granted, my studies revolved around VB6, C++, and Java, but I dabbled on my own time while working two jobs and balancing school. Don't worry. I didn't have a social life to distract me.

I didn't realize I wanted to be a computer programmer until my senior year in high school when I was talking to a friend's dad since my friend wasn't at home. Perhaps it's always been in my nature to control things, but the concept of making a computer behave just as you wanted it to intrigued me. At that point, I abandoned my statistically-low aspirations of pursuing a career in theater and set my sights on tech school.

I've always been a geek, save for the whole social outcast part. In high school, people knew my face because they could receive extra credit in English class if they went and saw the school play. The result was people saying hi to me even though I had no clue who they were, but I responded with a polite smile and nod. I took AP Calculus because my friend thought it'd be fun. I was president of Art Club, but not because I had artistic talent. My cartoons never made it to the library art fair. I was charismatic and energetic. Plus, most of my other clubbers had different clubs they were presidents of. I read 17 Xanth novels in the span of one summer vacation. I watched anime. About 15 years ago, I started to form a story in my head.

That brings us to the content of my website. Graphics and code are the pretty packaging for what my life is really made of. By profession, I write code. By passion, I write stories. My writing is second place to my wonderful, yet sometimes sadistic, husband and my frighteningly brilliant child, but for the sake of keeping my private life private, they will only be mentioned in passing. Most of what you will find here revolves around my books (the aforementioned story in my head) or whatever I feel like blogging about at the time. There will be separate pages dedicated to my two different series: The Niniers and Cera Chronicles.
