Welcome.

You’ve probably come across this blog by accident, but if you came here on purpose, well, you chose your punishment.  While I enjoyed maintaining a blog on Blogspot, I decided I wanted something more personalized, and I wanted it on my domain. Blogspot only allows you to set the alternate url to a root path, so I couldn’t point it to /blog like I wanted to. While perusing the numerous solutions for blogging available, I decided on Word Press and here we are. I’d like to give a shout out and thank you to Drew Strojny, writer on The Theme Foundry, for the wonderful tutorial he provided for creating a Word Press theme from an existing website.  It was of great help and I’m satisfied with the results.

While on my last blog, I rambled about my book and many of the details within it, I’ve decided to avoid such here. If you want to know the details, you’ll just have to read it when I finish it. That doesn’t mean I won’t talk about my writing. That’d be impossible. But the plots will remain in mystery.

I’m on draft 2 of Thanmir War and a lot is changing. After receiving feedback from opinions I respect, I’ve set my focus on deepening my characters and clarifying several events. Vague is not my friend.

In addition to Thanmir War, I’ve been self-editing my first volume of the Cera Chronicles, This World Bites. When I’m not allowed to type*, I draw. I invested in a graphics tablet and found it worth the money. My drawings are safe from scribbles** and I have an endless supply of digital paper, pencils, and ink. Not to mention the wonderful ability to work in layers.

I intend to continue developing my website. The graphics are homemade and most of the css and javascript is self developed. I’ve had to reference a few places, such as Matthew James Taylor liquid layouts and soulwire’s dom particles, and modify them for my purposes, but I do understand all of the code and what it does.

On other fronts, I’ve been learning combative maneuvers from a trainer who works with the state police. It’s a better workout than my boot camp classes, plus I’m learning form and the reasons why some moves are more effective than others. Self defense is good and my husband fully supports me kicking the butt of anyone who decides to attack.

Thank you for taking the time to read my post and I hope you enjoy the new location. Keep checking back for updates. My goal is to improve something once a week.

Welcome to my blog. I post here on Wednesdays most of the time, but you can find me on social media any day of the week. My topics include my stories and writing, life at the Town's End, creating and tinkering with graphics, things I learn and think might be helpful to others, and the occasional amateur photo. Thanks for stopping by! I hope to see you around.
