Featured Photo Friday

Posted on March 14, 2014 by Loni Townsend

It was a rare day. The rain abated, gracing us with a brilliant view of that long-lost friend: the sun.

This one, surprisingly, had no filters applied.

clouds

The image could be cleaned up. I’m not sure if a couple of those clouds are actually clouds or if they’re water spots. (I was sitting in the backseat of my co-worker’s car on our way to lunch.)

But I liked the shot.

Are you looking forward to seeing the sun more often?

Nice! I think those are all clouds. No touch-up needed.
We have sun today although it’s still very cold.

That gets so deceiving! You’d think it’d be warm, but when you step outside, you can see your breath.

It’s a gorgeous shot! I love the interplay of sun on one side, looking so bright, and the cloud on the other side, with it’s fluffy white still showing a darkness about it. The perfect warm/cold blend here. And the sky is so blue! You really have an eye for photography, Loni!

    Ahem…that would be “its” not “it’s.” A writer’s nightmare. 🙂

Thank you! The shot was really a lucky one. The sun disappeared behind all the clouds soon after I took it.

It’s vs its gives me pause every time. I have to sit and think about it.

Before I had a child, I loved the rainy and gray days. Now I look forward to sunshine and time outside. Have a terrific weekend!

Would love more sun around here! But March in Indiana…not so much!

Nice shot — I like how that cloud is just floating there. In my corner of the world, we enjoy the rain this time of year. It’s so rare. But we’re expecting a spring wave with highs in the mid-80’s.

Beautiful pictures! Yes, I am ready for more sun. If it can’t be snowy, I want sunny and warm!
