Featured Photo Friday

Posted on September 5, 2014 by Loni Townsend

The grapes this season are delicious. Crisp and sweet, they give that satisfying crunch and burst of flavor when you bite into them. So when my husband and I settled down for a glass of wine, I thought I’d get creative.

So let’s raise a glass for today’s featured photo—Grapewine!

Grapewine

I had a vision of the California Raisins snapping their fingers and singing, “I heard it through the grape vine,” when I chose the name. Do you remember those raisins?

I hope you have a terrific weekend! I’m off to go camping in those areas that don’t have cell reception. I’m wondering how it’ll work out with a baby who isn’t quite a year old yet. But my daughter is looking forward to camping with the cousins, and I’d hate to deprive her.

Any advice for camping with a baby? Do you like grapes? Do you remember the California Raisins?

Oh, I remember the California Raisins very well. Did you ever see their Christmas special?

    Have fun camping!

Now that Heard it Through the Grapevine song will be stuck in my head! I don’t like wine, so those grapes look good to me.

Hehe, I get songs stuck in my head all the time. Then I sing them aloud and get them stuck in my husband’s head. 🙂

I agree with @alex — that is a beautiful photo. Hope you’re enjoying the camping and the away-from-electronics-time. That’s lovely.
So…are you saying you’re actually making wine from your grapes, too? We may look into that next year. Hard to keep up with all the lovely munchables on our mars grape vine.

Classic stop-motion; those Raisins need to make a comeback. Have fun camping! It’s great to unplug every now and then.

I had forgotten about those raisins actually! But now I remember we had several of the little figurines from happy meals we used to play with. Fun times! =)
