Featured Photo Friday

Posted on October 10, 2014October 10, 2014 by Loni Townsend

Wednesday morning, I woke early (okay, not much earlier than I typically do) and climbed up the ladder to the playset my husband has been building for the kids. There I stood in the quiet, wrapped up in my fleece robe, staring at the sky and the blood moon eclipse.

Now I don’t have a telescope, so this photo doesn’t show the stunning detail M. Pax was able to capture in her photo. But for a girl standing on a homemade playset in her backyard in the middle of town, it’s not too shabby.

Moon

This featured photo reminded me of my friend, Dani. She’s working on her novel which may or may not have a werewolf in it.

Oh! And please know, I’m running a week-long sale on Thanmir War for $0.99 on Amazon, starting Sunday. So if you’re planning posts for next week, I’d love for a shout out.

Did you get to see the blood moon eclipse? Are you normally up early? Read any good werewolf stories lately?

beautiful!! and how crazy seeing saturn like that in the photos you linked. I’m usually up pretty early but I missed seeing it. Not happy about that, since I love these kinds of things. Years ago I got to see a meteor shower. It was freezing and I stood outside for over an hour at like 3am and got quite sick a few days later, but it was totally worth it!

I totally missed this moon! But wow, your picture is amazing. It looks like a photo I’d see in a professional magazine or coffee table bookโ€”impressive!

And so cool that your hubby is building a playset for the kiddos! I love playsets. ๐Ÿ™‚

And yes, if I post next week (which I should) I’ll be sure to give a shout out for your book on sale! ๐Ÿ™‚

I had every intention of seeing that, but sleep wouldn’t let me go. Missed it! Thanks for posting the image.

Awesome picture! I didn’t see the moon this week. It’s been too cloudy and rainy to see the sky. At least we’ll get a sunny day tomorrow for our pumpkin patch trip. ๐Ÿ™‚

Your photo turned out great, Loni. I forgot to look but usually the trees block everything anyhow. Funny to picture you climbing the playset at that early hour. Now that’s dedication!

Blood moons are a little creepy. I’ve seen the moon when it was a little red, but not deep red. I read somewhere that the moon earlier this week resembled a pumpkin!
