There’s something nice about getting to know local authors. You meet the interesting personalities that give us amazing worlds filled with everything and more than the imagination can muster. I had the privilege to encounter J.C. Jackson.
Jei, as I call her, released her debut to the world this week! Her cover is rockin’ and the content between the pages is just as good. I’m more than happy to share it with all of you.

Magic and science are normal to Ketayl. She was content in her lab at the Terran Intelligence Organization until the day an explosion in Elven Territory thrust her out of the lab and into the field.
There, she finds a kind of twisted, dark magic that she has no idea how to stop. On top of having to hunt down a rogue mage, the exposure to the twisted magical energy is putting herself and those around her in danger.
Can Ketayl find the rogue mage and put an end to the twisted magic before she succumbs to its effects?

About the Author:
J.C. Jackson is originally from New England and currently lives in southwestern Idaho with her husband and daughter.
On top of writing, she enjoys gaming whether that is picking up a controller or throwing down some dice in a tabletop RPG (as well as other board games). She has also been a fan of science fiction and fantasy since she was little.
What do you think of science fantasy? Do you know many authors in your local area? Are you heading to check out Twisted Magics now?
Sounds intriguing. Hope all is going well with you, Loni. Have a lovely week.
I do like science fantasy. It is fun to meet local authors. I try to support them as well. And as far as Twisted Magic, I’ll check out amazon to see if there is a preview of what’s inside the book π
I like science fantasy! How fun to meet a local author. Best of luck on lots of sales for J.C..
Ooh! What a premise. I’m reminded of one of my favorite books from when I was younger–not conceptually, but the premise of the story. It promises to be an epic read.
I love the idea of science fantasy. Congrats on the new release, J.C.!
I’ve gotten to meet a few local authors through my writers group. It’s great for networking and sharing resources and opportunities.
What an awesome cover! Congrats to J.C.!
I love how the cover looks like two covers meshed together. I love stories that involve magic and this premise is very good.
Like Chrys, I love magical elements in some stories. And I love to meet authors and talk to them in person. It’s a lot of what keeps me going in this insane business.
And another fine author from Idaho. What better incentive to move there. Off to check this one out.
You’re right – it’s a great cover! I’ve heard putting characters’ faces on covers allows reader to connect with the book easier. Wishing JC much success! π
Sounds good! I don’t know any local authors…I did meet a lady at the laundromat in a near-ish town last year who is working on children’s books but that’s as far as we got sadly.
Love the cover! And great blurb!
Congratulations, JC. And she likes RPGs? She’s uber-cool.
Sounds like a great read. Thanks for sharing, Loni. And congrats to J.C. π
Congrats to J.C.! It’s always fun when you’re able to meet other authors in person and establish that connection. I love her coverβbest of luck to her! π
That sounds interesting and the cover looks great! I don’t know any authors around my area, but I know a few non-fiction authors from other states.
Science fantasy is a great mix. Like McCaffrey’s Dragonriders of Pern series.
Looks like an awesome read with a great cover. Congrats to J.C.
Huh. I’m definitely going to have to look this one up, as while I enjoy the concepts that go with science fantasy and I’m editing a novel in that genre now, I don’t think I’ve ever read any. O_o Thanks!
Sounds like an interesting book–love the cover.
I know a few writers in my area, but not tons. My little writing group is small, but it works for us.
Have a great week, Loni!
A nice taste of what’s to come. π
Anna from elements of emaginette
I’ve always enjoyed the melding of science and fantasy. I don’t really know any local authors where I live, but I did just find out last night that the wife of someone who works part time for my wife is a romance author. I looked her up and she has over 30 books on amazon. What a small world.
