Vanishing Squirrel Act

Posted on August 24, 2016August 23, 2016 by Loni Townsend

Imagine me staring at my computer wide-eyed and a bit bewildered. Two weeks. Somehow, somewhere, two Wednesdays came and left before I had the chance to process what was going on. Call me a slacker, for that is what I am. Had I been paying attention to the days, I might have made party decorations by now.

Wait, no, that’s not what I meant to say.

This is my blog. Had I been paying attention to the days, I might have published a couple of posts. Yeah. That’s it. Geez. I have the attention span of a— Hey, what was that?

Ahem.

Back on topic: Lots of things are happening at the Town’s End. The girl turned 6 the same day she started first grade. The birthday party is on this coming Sunday. No, I haven’t made decorations. I’ll get it done. Probably. In a mad dash and wild scramble. At the last possible minute.

After I jump out of an airplane. As my husband so delicately asked, “Is this one of those bucket-list things?” Yes, yes it is. And it’s going to be AWESOME. This Saturday, my best friend and I are crossing this off our lists at 16K above the ground. Flying Squirrel! Whee!

But wait! There’s more.

I’m running a 5K on the 3rd. I’m the featured local author at the Pop Up Book Store event on the 9th. I’m doing PaintNite with my best friend on the 16th.

See? Lots o’ stuff. So if I pull another vanishing squirrel act, don’t be alarmed. I’m still here. Probably. ๐Ÿ˜‰

If you’re in the neighborhood of Maui Wowi in Meridian, ID on September 9th from 5:30 – 7:30PM, please stop by and say hi. The Pop Up Book Store is doing amazing work helping out local authors after the Hastings downfall. Plus it’s bound to be a great time with music and art. And they sell great smoothies. I hope to see you there!

Has life been busy for you? What’s on your bucket list? Will I see you at Maui Wowi?

Wow, you do have a lot coming up. Enjoy your jump. Definitely not on my bucket list.

You’re forgiven. I’ve been tempted to do the same when I go on vacation. I might take a break around Christmas this year. It’s important to tend to work, family, and everyday life.

YES, and seconded. What is with life lately, eh? Here’s to surviving, loving the bumps along the way, and eating cheese. Or acorns. Whichever you prefer.

I’m too far away to join the party and all I can say is, wow! You are one busy woman. ๐Ÿ™‚

Wow – jumping out of an airplane! I can’t imagine doing that in my wildest dreams. It’d be more like nightmares. But, it sounds like a great bucket list activity – have fun!

You mean you’re jumping at 16,000 feet right? Not 16 KILOMETERS???

Good luck with all your upcoming events! Hopefully the jump especially goes well so you can be here next week to tell us about it. ๐Ÿ˜‰

You won’t get me out of a perfectly good airplane… Actually, you wouldn’t get me into one either. Nope. Watched far too many air crash investigation shows to set foot on a plane. Have fun with it!

I’ve got a few things coming up. DOM’s re-release is in October, so there’ll be that. Trying to get a mailing list sorted and keep up the current flow Golden Dawn’s got. Trying to organise a radio interview (my first, struggling to think of talking point right now, got three so far). All along with essentially writing two books at once.

    Look at those adorable faces!!

Wow, you have been busy ๐Ÿ™‚ But that’s a good thing! You’re supposed to LIVE this life, so I’d say you’re doing a stellar job. And kudos on the plane thing. I talk about it like I’m going to do it, but that’s because I’m not actually boarding the plane. Have fun and I wish I could see/support you at the Pop Up Book Store!

Number one on my bucket list is to finally finish and publish a book. Everything else pales after that.

Shew, you are a busy lady (squirrel!)! My husband has sky dived twice and loved it. I do not understand the appeal…(chicken!)

I’m doing the Wine Run 5k this Saturday, but am not totally thrilled since they changed the course from around St. Chappelle to Boise’s Greenbelt. Oh well. Good luck on your 5k as well. Busy is always an understatement. I’m actually going to start working on a memoir come the new year, but I’m not even going to worry about a website etc. It all gets to be too much and the editing blog already takes so much time.

Good luck at the store event. I know how you feel – from mid-September through November, I am going to be one busy puppy with five events, five book releases, and two vacations crammed in there. Oh, and our church’s two-day Fall Fest. I’ll get some rest in December.

Heh…you have fun with that jump. I don’t have a bucket list and if I did, my fear of heights (’cause I don’t need more) would not let me have that on there.

And definitely have fun with the event. I went to go put it into my calendar and saw my husband already scheduled something for that evening. ๐Ÿ™

Good luck at the Pop Up Book Store in Meridian on September. Might try and persuade some family to attend, although not in Boise until October 1st.

Good luck at the store and with the jump. WHEEEEE! I know what you mean about a busy life. School started here and I’m still trying to get into the daily groove. Being sick hasn’t helped. Have a terrific weekend!

Wow, lots of great stuff going on! Happy Birthday to your daughter! I wish I could be in Idaho this weekend. I’d love to say hi and hear all about the skydiving. Most of the things on my bucket list are travel-related. The kind you’d do by being in an airplane, not by jumping out of it. ๐Ÿ™‚ Have a great “flight” and please do post about your experience!

Skydiving is awesome! A friend and I did that a few years back to celebrate our 30th birthdays, and it was absolutely amazing. Just be warned that whomever jumps first, you or your husband, the other will have to deal with watching whoever went first fall out of a plane. That’s a very weird experience.

Sounds like a busy, but fun, month! I’ve taken some mini breaks from blogging over the summer months. Too much to do. Life comes first.

That’s a lot going on! I admire your bravery with the jump, and look forward to hearing about it.

I’ve found it hard to keep up with blogging and visiting blogs this summer too. I really get those people who take summers off.
