Jewels of Chandra Book 2 is now available.
Magic is real. So is betrayal.
David enters the Fire Kingdom and events shift from bad to worse. He learns a shocking truth about the dragons, a truth destined to block his efforts to retrieve the lost magic of Shaylar from the ruling Council. After a cave-in and injuries force a rescue, David finds himself more isolated than before as personal concerns scatter his trusted advisors and the wizard who led him there abandons him.
The head of the dragon Council negotiates separate deals with both David and his father, sowing further discord between them. David’s close friend, Lothan, disappears into the caves and doesn’t return. A group of dissidents kidnap Wilks, the child empath David is sworn to protect. With no options left, he accepts the Council’s demands to help them in their centuries-old conflict, risking a war which might kill them all.
Even if David manages to win, there’s no guarantee the dragons will let him leave the region alive. They don’t want the Kingdom of Shaylar to rise again and will stop at nothing to see it remain a pile of dust.
Bio:
River Fairchild is somewhat odd, brandishes a dry sense of humor, owned by several cats. Lives in a fantasy world. A fabricator of magic. Makes stuff up and spins tales about it. Believes in Faerie crossings and never staying in one place for very long. Speculative Fiction wordsmith. The secret to her stories? Spread lies, blend in truths, add a pinch of snark and a dash of tears. Escape into her world. She left the porch light on so you can find your way down the rabbit hole.

I’ve been busy reading the first book, Diamonds & Dust, and I can tell you that I’m looking forward to reading the second one (which I’ve already snagged a copy of). What about you? Are you going to pick up Dragon’s Lament?
Thank you so much for sharing this, Loni! I’m thrilled. 🙂
I’m so glad you’re enjoying Diamonds and Dust. There will be a new prequel out in a couple of weeks about this world too. 🙂
Congratulations, River!!
Hi, Loni.
CONGRATS to River! Her writing is so amazing! I can’t wait to read this!
River (and Tara) are taking the blogsphere by storm today. Congrats! 🙂
Not a genre I’m fond of, but you write a nice review. Playing around with, and reading about, gravatar, avatar, and Favicon. Are they the same thing? Never had a Favicon, which seems to be the word used on the blogger format. So made one; though I don’t see it on my blog…not sure if I’m suppose to? So, let’s see if it works here for you to see my wee little face.
Quess not………back to the drawing board.
Favicons are the little icons you see on the browser tab (outside of the actual page you’re looking at). Like Blogger has the orange square with the white B. I made my own Favicon, which is a little squirrel with a black ninja mask.
I had just loaded a picture of me 100 x 100, then found a site where you load it there to make a Favicon, and then you download it to you blog…so…let’s see if that worked.
Pooey, it still didn’t work.
I just love this cover! Everything from the color palette to the artist’s talent is perfect. Wishing River huge success!! 🙂
Gotta get to work, but thought I’d try once more, this is suppose to be a gravatar, but I had to join WP to get it, still not sure I see a difference in gravatars, avatars, etc. Favicon I get is the little orange square, but since it says you can replace …upload your own, why didn’t that work?
Me at the train station in Barcelona….so one more question is that going to now appear instread of my profile picture on blogger? That’s the one I’m used to as are others?
Ok one final part of the experiment, the favicon didn’t work at all on my blog or yours, the gravatar worked on yours, but then it deleted my profile picture for all the blogspot blogs. The the gravatar doesn’t come across on blogspot/blogger. So, since I can’t find a way to delete the account I had to get to make a gravatar, I deleted the picture so now my blogger profile pictures works on blogs other then wordpress. Since we’re suppose to learn one new thing a day…I think I’m done, lol
Yay for River! I loved the first book in that series. Can’t wait to read this one!
I adore the cover for River’s new book! I wish her much success with it, and look forward to reading it. 😀
Love the cover! Best of luck to the author, I’m sure it will be a success.
